Standing at 6,584 meters (21,600 feet), Chulu East is a technically challenging peak, but it doesn’t require advanced mountaineering skills, making it a popular choice for those with previous high-altitude trekking or climbing experience.
Chulu East is part of the Chulu Mountain range, located in the Annapurna Conservation Area. It lies just to the north of the Annapurna Circuit, which is one of Nepal’s most famous trekking routes.The standard approach involves trekking to the base camp after passing through several picturesque villages like Pisang, Manang, and others along the Annapurna Circuit. The journey usually starts from Besisahar, and you'll move up to the Thorong La Pass 5,416 meters, one of the highest trekking passes in the world, before heading to the base camp of Chulu East.

Technical Aspects: Although not overly technical, climbers will need experience with crampon use, ice axe handling, and basic snow and ice climbing techniques. The climb involves some steep sections, and some of the ascent is done on snow and ice.
