Geography
Nepal is of roughly trapezoidal shape, 800 kilometers (497 mi) long and 200 kilometers (124 mi) wide, with an area of 147,181 sq.km .(56,827 sq mi).  Latitude- 26 12' to 30 27' North Longitude- 80 4' to 88 12' East, Time Zone: 5 hours and 45 minutes ahead of GMT. ( +5.45)

Nepal is commonly divided into three physiography areas the Mountain, Hill, and Terei Regions. These ecological belts run east-west and are vertically intersected by Nepal's major, north to south flowing river systems. The southern lowland plains or Terai bordering India are part of the northern rim of the Indo-heritable plains. They were formed and are fed by three major Himalayan rivers: the Kosi, the Narayani, and the Karnali as well as smaller rivers rising below the permanent snowline. This region has a subtropical to tropical climate. The outermost range of foothills called Shiwalik or Churia Range cresting at 700 to 1,000 meters (2,297 to 3,281 ft) marks the limit of the Genetic Plain, however broad, low valleys called Inner Tarai lie north of these foothills in several places.

Climate
Nepal has five climatic zones, broadly corresponding to the altitudes. The tropical and subtropical zones lie below 1,200 meters (3,937 ft), the temperate zone 1,200 to 2,400 meters (3,937 to 7,874 ft), the cold zone 2,400 to 3,600 meters (7,874 to 11,811 ft), the subarctic zone 3,600 to 4,400 meters (11,811 to 14,436 ft), and the Arctic zone above 4,400 meters (14,436 ft)Nepal experiences five seasons: summer, monsoon, autumn, winter and spring. The Himalaya blocks cold winds from Central Asia in the winter and forms the northern limit of the monsoon wind patterns. In a land once thickly forested, deforestation is a major problem in all regions, with resulting erosion and degradation of ecosystem.

Nepal has four major seasons, namely (1) Winter: December-February (2) Spring: March-May (3) Summer June-August and (4) Autumn September-November.

Languages
Nepal's diverse linguistic heritage evolved from four major language groups: Indo-Aryan, Tibeto-Burman, Mongolian and various indigenous languages isolates. The major languages of Nepal (percent spoken as mother tongue) are Nepali (48.61%), Maithili (12.30%), Bhojpuri (7.53%), Tharu (5.86%), Tamang (5.19%), Newari/Nepal Bhasa (3.63%), Magar (3.39%), Awadhi (2.47%), Rai (2.79%), Limbu (1.47%), and Bajjika (1.05%), other (5.71%) Derived from Sanskrit, Nepali has roots in Sanskrit and is written in Devanagari script. Nepali is the official national language and serves as lingua franca among Nepalis of different ethno-linguistic groups. Dialects of Tibetan are spoken in and north of the higher Himalaya where standard literary Tibetan is widely understood by those with religious education. Local dialects in the Terai and hills are mostly unwritten with efforts underway to develop systems for writing many in Devanagari or the Roman alphabet.Population 28,901,790 and more than 103 ethnic groups and 93 spoken languages but National Language is Nepali.

Trekking in Nepal:
Trekking in Nepal is a very popular destination due to the unrivaled scenery and majestic mountains that are the highest in the world. Combine this with the endless nature and wildlife, and exotic panoramic views of the myth Himalayas, you’ll see why Nepal is unrivaled anywhere.

The best trekking in the world is located in Nepal surrounded by several of the world's highest mountains including Mount Everest. Many travelers from around the world visit Nepal to go trekking and the Nepalese tourism industry is well prepared to accommodate all manners of trekking styles and destinations. On the one hand you could spend a year planning an expedition to wild and lofty places, or simply land in Kathmandu with no plans at all and be on the trail trekking in no time.

Types of Trekking:
Tea House / Lodge Trekking:

This is a relatively cheap way of trekking where meals and accommodation are provided in very affordable Tea Houses along the route. This is quite a popular method for enjoying the many treks in Nepal and Tea Houses can be found along many of the trails. Meals depend on the menu at the tea house which usually consists of simple, basic meals of the local people. Although many tea houses and hotels in the hills and mountains are reasonably comfortable, some may be more ‘rustic’ than others so be sure to have a look before you agree to stay the night. Staying at a Tea House is a great way to connect with some of the local culture and definitely suits trekkers not wanting to carry their own food and camping gear. Tea Houses can be found on the following treks: Everest base camp Trek, Annapurna base camp Trekking, Annapurna Circuit Trek, Langtang Valley Trek, Helambu valley Trek and Mustang Trek.

Camping / Organized Trekking:
This is considered the classic style of trekking in Nepal and can be enjoyed almost anywhere in the country. Camping /Organized Trekking is fully supported with a team of guides, cooks, Sherpas and porters to accompany you and make your journey enjoyable. All the necessary trekking gear such as food, fuel and other goods are carried by the porters. The cook will prepare all the meals during the camping trek. Trekkers need to carry only a small day pack and at night the tents for dining, sleeping and ablution are provided and set up as are mattresses, sleeping bags, tables and seating. A Sirdar (chief guide) is employed to per-arrange and oversee the entire program. All land transportation, local permits, taxes, porter insurance, port dues and entrance fees to National Parks or sites are arranged for you.

Camping / Organized Trekking can be found in these regions and along these routes: Dolpo Trekking, Kanchenjunga Trekking, Rolwaling Trek, Makalu Sherpani col Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek,  Manaslu Tsum Valley Trekking  are mostly fully Camping Trekking in Nepal.
