Permits for Mount EBC Trek in Nepal

The Government of Nepal has a rule in place to keep the beauty around Mt. Everest and the other Himalayan Mountains safe. To visit these places, you need special permits.

Just like other national parks in Nepal, you need a permit for the Sagarmatha National Park too. When you compare the cost of these permits to the overall cost of your trip to Nepal and the Everest Region, you'll see that it's not a big amount. This small fee helps take care of the wonderful area with its snow, forests, ice, pastures, and culture.

A long time ago, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay made the Khumbu area famous. But since then, many climbers and trekkers have come to enjoy the beauty of places like Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Goyko Lakes, and more. We want to make sure that this place remains just as beautiful for the people who come here in the future and for the people who live here in Nepal.

For the Mount EBC Trek, you need two types of permits:

  • Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Entrance Permit: This costs NPR 2000 per person.
  • Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit: This costs NPR 3000 per person.

These permits are important for the trek, and we will take care of getting them for you. It's all part of making sure you have a wonderful and safe adventure while keeping this incredible place beautiful for everyone to enjoy.

The proximity to the world's highest peak makes the EBC Trek an iconic pilgrimage for those seeking a brush with mountaineering greatness.

Varied Landscapes

The trek's diverse landscapes unfold like chapters in a captivating story. Trekkers traverse lush forests, serene valleys, rugged terrains, and glacial moraines, each offering a unique visual spectacle. This ever-changing backdrop keeps the trek engaging and rewarding.

Best Time for EBC Trek

Embarking on the mesmerizing journey of an EBC trek is an adventure that beckons nature enthusiasts and adventurers alike. While this incredible trek is accessible year-round, the most rewarding experiences are unveiled during the enchanting seasons of spring and autumn.

Enchanted spring (March, April, May)

As nature awakens from its winter slumber, the spring months cast a magical spell on the Everest region. With temperatures hovering around a comfortable 20°C during the day, and a brisk -5°C at night, trekkers find themselves in a perfect climate sweet spot. The high trek regions come alive with the vibrant hues of blooming flora, setting the stage for a picturesque journey. The snow-clad peaks stand tall against the clear, azure skies, presenting an awe-inspiring spectacle that truly captures the essence of the Himalayas.

Autumn's Embrace (September, October, November)

Autumn unfurls its golden tapestry over the Everest region, creating a captivating backdrop for trekkers. The temperatures at high elevations reach an inviting 25°C during the day, while the nights offer a refreshing chill at -10°C. This season aligns harmoniously with Nepal's festive spirit, as a multitude of Nepali celebrations take center stage. Immerse yourself in the local culture while traversing the trails adorned with fallen leaves, and relish the festive aura that enhances the trekking experience.

While the allure of spring and autumn is undeniable, the Everest Base Camp trek also extends its welcome during summer and winter.

Summer's Secret (June, July, August)

The warmth of summer spreads across the region, offering a unique charm to intrepid trekkers. However, the summer months coincide with Nepal's monsoon season, bringing occasional rain showers to lower trek areas. While the high altitudes enjoy daytime temperatures around 27°C and cooler nights at 5°C, the monsoon clouds can play hide-and-seek with the mountains, occasionally shrouding their grandeur. Despite these whims of weather, the EBC trail transforms into a lush haven, with abundant greenery painting a vivid contrast against the misty landscapes.

Winter's Whisper (December, January, February)

Winter lends a serene, snow-kissed ambiance to the EBC trek, unveiling a tranquil world of pristine beauty. The high-altitude trails may be blanketed with snow, creating a mesmerizing white pathway. Although the nights can be chillingly cold, plummeting to -20°C, the daytime temperatures offer respite, ranging up to 15°C. This season unveils a serene solitude amidst the mountains, a haven for those who seek a quiet communion with nature's splendor.

In essence, each season casts its own enchantment over the trek, offering a unique canvas upon which trekkers can create unforgettable memories. Mt. Everest Base Camp Training Guide

Starting on the iconic journey to Mt. Everest Base Camp is a testament to human determination and a yearning for exploration. While no specialized training is required for this extraordinary trek, a blend of physical and mental readiness is your key to unlocking the Himalayan wonders. Let's delve into your comprehensive trekking Training Guide, designed to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and fulfilling adventure.

1. Cultivate Physical Stamina:

While you need not be an athlete, a certain level of physical fitness is advantageous. Engage in regular aerobic exercises like brisk walking, jogging, cycling, or swimming to enhance your cardiovascular endurance. Focus on building strength in your leg muscles, as they'll be your trusty companions on the trek's undulating terrains.

2. Cardiovascular Conditioning:

A steady heart is your mountain ally. Incorporate cardiovascular exercises that elevate your heart rate and improve oxygen circulation. Gradually increase the duration and intensity of your workouts to mimic the elevation gains you'll experience during the trek.

3. Leg Day, Every Day:

Your legs will be your pillars of strength. Strengthen your quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves with exercises like squats, lunges, and calf raises. Hiking on inclined surfaces or using a stair climber can simulate the uphill challenges you'll face.

4. Core Stability:

A strong core ensures balance and stability on rugged paths. Include planks, bridges, and leg raises in your routine to fortify your core muscles and protect your lower back.

5. Mental Resilience:

Prepare your mind for the journey ahead. Visualize your success, draw inspiration from your goals, and cultivate a positive mindset. Developing mental resilience will help you navigate both the physical challenges and the euphoric moments of the trek.

6. Endurance Training:

Long walks with a loaded backpack prepare you for carrying your trek essentials. Gradually increase the weight as you build endurance. This training not only strengthens your body but also familiarizes you with the load you'll bear.

7. Altitude Acclimatization:

While not a pre-trek requirement, understanding the effects of high altitudes and practicing controlled ascents can be beneficial. Acclimatization hikes at progressively higher altitudes help your body adjust to lower oxygen levels, reducing the risk of altitude sickness.

8. Footwear and Gear Familiarization:

Breaking in your hiking boots ensures a comfortable journey. Train with the gear you'll use during the trek, including your backpack, to become accustomed to its weight and fit.

Sherpa Culture and Tradition

As you tread along the sacred trails that lead to the legendary ground, you are not just embarking on a physical journey; you are immersing yourself in the rich tapestry of Sherpa culture and tradition. These resilient people, often referred to as the "Tigers of the Snow," have called the towering Himalayas their home for centuries. Let's unveil the vibrant world of Sherpa culture and tradition that awaits you during your trek.

A Legacy Carved in Stone and Spirit:

The Sherpas' roots trace back to Tibet, and their culture is an intricate fusion of ancient Tibetan practices, Buddhism, and the rugged mountain lifestyle. Their monasteries, adorned with intricate murals and fluttering prayer flags, stand as silent witnesses to a faith that's an integral part of their existence.

Warm Hospitality and Genuine Smiles:

As you traverse the picturesque villages, the warmth of Sherpa hospitality envelops you. Welcoming smiles and hearty greetings are customary, reflecting the genuine generosity of these mountain dwellers. A cup of butter tea or a plate of delicious momos shared with a Sherpa family becomes a cherished memory of your journey.

Monasteries: Gateways to Serenity:

The Everest region is dotted with monasteries that seem to cling to the mountainsides, emanating an aura of spirituality. Take a moment to visit Tengboche Monastery, a spiritual center perched amidst awe-inspiring peaks. Witness the monks' rhythmic chants and engage in a spiritual connection that transcends language barriers.

Festivals: A Tapestry of Colors and Celebrations:

Should your journey align with the Nepali calendar, you might have the privilege of partaking in a local festival. Dashain and Tihar are vibrant celebrations that illuminate the mountains with colors, music, and dance. Join the festivities, witness the lively processions, and embrace the joyous spirit that infuses the air.

The Sherpa Way of Life: Navigating the Mountains:

Sherpas are born mountaineers, with an intimate knowledge of the treacherous terrain they call home. As you ascend to higher altitudes, you'll marvel at their agility and strength. Observing their mountain skills, from scaling icy slopes to navigating narrow trails, offers a glimpse into a way of life intricately woven with the mountains.

Cultural Exchange: Bridging Worlds:

Your interactions with the Sherpa people transcend the conventional boundaries of travel. Engage in conversations, share stories, and learn about their daily routines. In return, they'll be eager to hear about your journey and your world, creating a beautiful bridge between cultures.

Respecting and Honoring: A Two-Way Path:

As you immerse yourself in Sherpa culture, remember that respect is the cornerstone. Embrace their customs, follow their lead, and tread lightly on their sacred land. By honoring their traditions, you become a part of a legacy that spans generations.

In essence, your Everest Base Camp trek is not just about reaching a destination; it's a chance to become a part of the Sherpa story. It's an opportunity to connect with a people whose spirits mirror the majestic mountains that surround them. As you walk in their footsteps, you'll find that the mountains are not just a backdrop but a living testament to the Sherpa culture that thrives amidst the snow-capped peaks.

Navigating Challenges and Preparing for the Base Camp Of Everest: A Comprehensive Guide

Embarking on the Mount Base Camp of Everest is a remarkable endeavor that promises breathtaking landscapes and profound experiences. However, beneath the awe-inspiring vistas lies a trail that challenges both body and mind. Understanding these difficulties and adequately preparing for them is essential to ensure a safe, successful, and rewarding journey. Let's delve into the difficulties that may arise and the steps you can take to prepare yourself for this iconic adventure.

Altitude: The Great Equalizer and Challenge:

One of the most significant challenges of the Everest Base Camp trek is the rapid gain in altitude. As you ascend, the air becomes thinner, and oxygen levels decrease. Altitude sickness is a genuine concern and can affect anyone, regardless of age or fitness level. To prepare, consider gradual acclimatization hikes, stay hydrated, and be attentive to your body's signals. Adequate rest, hydration, and recognizing symptoms of altitude sickness are crucial to mitigate this challenge.

Physical Endurance and Stamina: The Trek's Unwavering Demands:

The trek demands physical stamina and endurance, particularly during steep ascents and long days of walking. Preparing your body through regular cardiovascular exercises, strength training, and hiking with a weighted backpack can significantly enhance your trekking experience. Building strength in your legs, core, and cardiovascular system will enable you to tackle the terrain with confidence.

Varied Weather and Terrain: Nature's Unpredictable Touch:

The Everest region's weather is unpredictable, ranging from clear skies to sudden snowstorms. Adapting to changing conditions is essential. Be prepared for varying temperatures, from warm days to freezing nights. Adequate layering of clothing and carrying waterproof and windproof gear will help you navigate nature's whims.

Accommodation and Facilities: Embracing Simplicity:

Accommodations along the trail range from basic lodges to teahouses. While they offer warmth and shelter, be prepared for shared facilities and limited amenities. Embracing this simplicity is part of the trek's charm. Packing essential toiletries and adjusting to the rustic living conditions will make your journey more comfortable.

Cultural Adaptation and Respect: A Key to Harmony:

The Everest region is not just a geographical wonder; it's a cultural tapestry woven by the Sherpa people. Respecting their traditions, values, and way of life is essential. Familiarize yourself with local customs, dress modestly, and engage in cultural exchanges with an open heart.

Preparation: Your Key to Success and Fulfillment:

Now that you're acquainted with the potential challenges, the next step is thorough preparation. This involves physical conditioning, mental readiness, and logistical planning. Engage in a fitness regimen, simulate trekking conditions, and ensure your gear is suitable and well-maintained. Educate yourself about altitude sickness, read trekking resources, and consult experienced trekkers or professionals for guidance.

Embrace the Journey, Overcome the Challenges:

The Mount Everest Base Camp trek is an trek of a lifetime, promising unparalleled beauty and self-discovery. The difficulties you encounter along the way are not obstacles but opportunities for growth and accomplishment. I got good references from other foreigners

‘I'm a 25 year old Korean-Canadian and I got into contact with Nabin 5 months before my arrival at Nepal in 2014 after hearing some good references from other foreigners. I got in contact with him early to get some ideas about trekking to EBC early 2015. He was very quick but detailed in his responses.

I had actually contacted several other guides and trekking companies, but in the end I decided to go with Nabin and his guide-porter because of not only their fast replies but also a sense of flexibility I got from them when it came to making decisions. They were very accommodating to the decisions I made, even about the little details. In the end though my personal challenge to trek to EBC failed because of my personal health reasons, but I highly recommend Nabin and his agency because of the hospitality, care, and quick emergency responses I received from them when I needed medical help. I think this is the most important factor when choosing a guide for your trekking experience.

We are hiring guides not just for sightseeing info during the trekking experience but in case we need to deal with emergency situations. Nabin and Krishna dealt my health problem really well and even continuously followed up with me throughout my stay at Nepal. This was not part of their job description when I hired them, and I truly appreciate their care and attention. I am planning to attempt an EBC trek again in two years after I train more. I'll be asking Nabin and Krishna again for their guidance and I hope my review of them will be helpful to you in deciding your guide for your trekking experience.

Wonderful Everest Trek

"The Everest base camp trek with Gopal was, from beginning to end, and incredible adventure. Gopal and his porters are exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. They went to some unimaginable lengths to ensure the comfort of our group and the success of our trek. Gopal has been doing this for a very long time and has no problem obtaining lodging or logistics anywhere in the Khumbu region, as he is well known and respected throughout the area. The trek is something that I will never forget. I highly recommend Himalayan Magic Treks."

17 Days EBC Trek with Himalayan Magic Treks- five Star services

I spent over 17 days with Gopal on a trek for EBC with 3 other family members in October 2011. It was an incredible journey that would not have been possible without the excellent help and guidance that Gopal and our two porters provided. Even in moments of trouble (altitude sickness) he showed us just how experienced he is with guiding and made sure to keep everyone safe even if it meant turning around.

You can be sure that if you choose Himalayan Magic Treks as your tour company you will have a safe, fun, informative and exciting journey. I was not disappointed with the service they provided and would recommend them to anyone who is interested in exploring this beautiful area of the world.

Amazing trek in Nepal!

We did a trek to Everest Base Camp with Himalayan Magic Treks in Nov 2016. We had lots of questions beforehand and Nabin was very quick to respond, and was very friendly in emails. He picked us up from the airport, and helped us find sleeping bags and down jackets for hire the next morning!

The price for the trek was reasonable - they were much cheaper than with the big international tour companies, and we had an English-speaking guide (Krishna) and a porter. They were brilliant on the trek, and Krishna helped us get the best rooms in the teahouses with the best views. They are accommodating so can tailor the trip however you want it. Krishna took care of things and even when we changed plans (due to a bit of altitude sickness), he and Nabin arranged alternative plans which allowed us to see some nice little villages and spend some relaxing time at the lower altitudes.

The Himalayas region is absolutely breathtaking, and we had a very memorable trek with Himalayan Magic Treks.

Trip of a lifetime

If you are looking to travel to Nepal to explore a glimpse of the Himalayas, look no further than Himalayan Magic Treks. They cannot be rated highly enough.

As a solo female traveller, who decided to organise a last minute trek to Everest Base Camp, I could not have chosen more wisely.

From beginning to end, Mr. Nabin was consistent and considerate, always replying in detail and with speed. I had all of my questions answered before ever meeting him.

Upon arrival, I was greeted at the airport by 3 males, Mr. Nabin (organizer), Guide, and driver. Despite being a solo female, I never once felt unsafe and very welcomed!

If you are blessed enough to have a guide as half as wonderful as mine, Mr. BD. You are in for a trip of a lifetime. Patient, friendly and extremely knowledgeable! It was just BD and I trekking alone which I was slightly apprehensive of at the beginning, but he was so professional and genuine that I enjoyed every minutes of our time together.

They are a 5 star company with 5 star staff.

You won't be disappointed if you chose to travel with them!

Amazing trek in Khumbu valley with Himalayan Magic Trek

We are a couple from London who did a trip to Nepal to visit Sagamartha National Park with Mt. Everest and the Annapurna region afterwards. For the longer Khumbu valley trek we booked a trip with Himalayan Magic Treks, which had been recommended by a friend at home. As expected Himalayan Magic Trek organised a superb trip for us. Nabin, the director of the business is very helpful and was extremely responsive and clear by email. When we met in Kathmandu he was very professional and super nice. Our guide Ang Phuri was great too, and so strong! During the trek it was like we had a friend come along, he is a sweet guy.

He picked great teahouses to stay for us, which were comfy and run by bubbly owners, which make you feel like home. The food was very good and we had no problems during our stay in Nepal. Nabin and his team really went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. We were delayed in Lukla and when back in Kathmandu Nabin helped us getting re-organised with pick-up, accommodation and change of flights, which wasn't originally part of the plan.

It made it all so much easier and it was like we had a good friend helping us. We so hope we get a chance to return to Nepal anytime soon to see other regions and will book with Himalayan Magic Trek again for sure. It would be great to see Nabin and the team again. Nepal is a stunning country and the people are as nice as the country is beautiful. Vincent & Sanjana

Excellent EBC trek with Himalayan Magic Trek - from a Singaporean traveller

I did the EBC trek with Himalayan Magic Trek in March 2017. After searching through a few trekking companies I decided to go with Himalayan Magic Treks mainly because they seemed like a serious company (doing both treks and expeditions) but also because of the timely replies from Nabin via email and the flexibility they offered in tailoring a trip around my tight work schedule. Also the prices they offered were highly competitive compared to other local companies.

My guide for the trip was Krishna Karki who happened to be Nabin’s brother. From the day I arrived at Kathmandu airport he was in charge of looking after my well-being and ensuring that the company delivered on what we had arranged. He accompanied me on the entire trekking trip from Kathmandu to Lukla and took care of all matters related to the trek from lodging to food. Krishna speaks fluent English (and French apparently) so there were no issues with communication and he was very helpful in answering my many questions about Nepal and the Himalayan mountain range. Also, it was easy to strike up a conversation about other topics just as you would with any tourist you met on the trail. I had the misfortune of acquiring a respiratory infection on my trip and Krishna was very attentive to me and closely monitored my health even offering the age-old mountain remedy of garlic soup to help with my altitude sickness. Overall, I felt safe and well taken care of during the trip and have absolutely no complaints.

During the hike we stayed at guesthouses along the route to EBC. Apart from Lobuche and Gorak shep which have few options, are usually overcrowded with people and have basic amenities, the other guesthouses that we stayed in were very comfortable. Not only were the toilets clean (by Nepali standards) but the food was surprisingly good.

This was my first trip to Nepal and after the memorable experience which I had I will definitely return to explore the other mountain ranges. Without any hesitation, I would choose Himalayan Magic Treks again.

AMAZING!!!!!! 17 day Everest Base Camp + Gokyo Cho-la Pass Trek

Thank you Himalayan Magic Treks for an incredible trip. I did the 17 day Everest Base Camp + Gokyo Cho-la Pass Trek. Nabin welcomed us warmly on our arrival to Kathmandu and did everything he could to help us get ready for the trek. The trek itself was AMAZING! I am so glad we went to Gokyo as well as Everest Base Camp as the views from Gokyo Ri were by far the most stunning views I have ever seen in my life. Sadly, we were unable to do the Cho-La Pass as I was starting to feeling the effects of the altitude, however, our guide Sitaram made sure that we found another route to get us safely to Everest Base Camp. Sitaram did everything he could to make sure we were safe and happy at all times during the trek.

Himalayan Magic Treks were recommended to me by a friend and now I too would happily recommend them anyone thinking about trekking in Nepal.

Everest Base Camp Trip of a lifetime

If you are looking to travel to Nepal to explore a glimpse of the Himalayas, look no further than Himalayan Magic Treks. They cannot be rated highly enough.
As a solo female traveller, who decided to organise a last minute trek to Everest Base Camp, I could not have chosen more wisely.
From beginning to end, Mr. Nabin was consistent and considerate, always replying in detail and with speed. I had all of my questions answered before ever meeting him.
Upon arrival, I was greeted at the airport by 3 males, Mr. Nabin (organiser), Guide, and driver. Despite being a solo female, I never once felt unsafe, but very welcomed!
If you are blessed enough to have a guide as half as wonderful as mine, Mr. BD. You are in for a trip of a lifetime. Patient, friendly and extremely knowledgeable! It was just BD and I trekking alone which I was slightly apprehensive of at the beginning, but he was so professional and genuine that I enjoyed every minute of our time together.
They are a 5 star company with 5 star staff.
You won't be disappointed if you chose to travel with them!

Amazing Trek in Nepal

EBC Trek - Awesome landscape views

For my EBC trek, I engaged himalayan magic treks. Initially, I was skeptical on the challenges I could face, but Nabin and Krishna Karki made me feel at home. Although my flight to KTM got delayed, both were very kind enough to pick me up late in the night and adjusted the itinerary. My guide, Mr Krishna was very knowledgeable, understood my trekking pace and gave enough room to trek at my own leisure. I took loads of pictures and will cherish the trek for ever. Unfortunate, I caught up with HAPE sickness just before reaching EBC, but Nabin and Krishna took care of me very well and engaged with Insurance teams professionally. I will return back next year and avail their service again

Excelente experiência com a Himalayan Magic Treks - An excellent experience

For those intending to visit Nepal and need a reliable, friendly and competent tour company, I highly recommend Himalayan Magic Treks. Many thanks to our guide Sitaram Karki, the porters, Prakash Aryal, Nabin Karki and all the others that made our dream trip become true! Fabricio Bianchini, São Paulo Brasil

Base Camp Adventure

I trecked with Shanta and Nabin to Base Camp of Mt Everest, and it is the best experience I have ever had in my life!

Right from the start of our trip where we were picked up from the airport, taken to the best shopping spots and then fed in their own house, we were incredibly well looked after.

Everything was organised, every question we was answered and at every point we felt safe and that our health and enjoyment was our guides top priority. They organised seperate day trips for us, were flexible to choose different accomodation based on the weather and our fitness levels, and even carried my Mum to the hospital when she had a fall.

As everything was looked after we were left to enjoy the incredible scenery, chat to the people we met along the way and marvel in the fact we were in the Himalayas.

NB be prepared for the altitude and its effects and the food served in the tea houses along the way!

When I left Nepal, I felt like I had a family there. Trecked Nov 2011.

Best experience, Great company

I chose to trek with Himalayan Magic because they offered the best rates and were a local Nepal trekking company.
I can honestly say I never expected the quality of guide I would get. I was picked up at the airport by my guide and of the companies owners. They settled me into my hotel and discussed the plan for my 12 day trek. When things could have gone bad due to poor weather, my guide and the company made alternate arrangements and ensured I still managed to do everything I wanted to.
My guide (Chirri) not only provided great knowledge of the land and insight into the lives of locals but looked after me personally and even helped other trekkers out along the way.
I've been recommending this company to all my friends and would encourage anyone else to get behind a great local business who know the land and care about its people

Memorable journey to Everest Base Camp

My husband and I embarked on a memorable journey to Everest Base Camp (EBC) in May 2023, accompanied by Himalayan Magic Treks. Undoubtedly, Nabin, our point of contact throughout the trip, played a pivotal role in ensuring our experience was as stress-free as possible. Right from our initial email exchange, Nabin diligently furnished us with all the necessary information, leaving no question unanswered. He remained readily available on WhatsApp, ever-willing to provide advice or address any queries that arose along the way. It was evident that no request was too much trouble for him.

Upon our arrival in Nepal, we were warmly greeted by Nabin, who imparted a wealth of knowledge and wisdom, acquired through years of experience. Subsequently, in Lukla, we were introduced to our guide, Kryshna, who proved to be nothing short of extraordinary. Words fall short in describing the breathtaking beauty that unfolded before our eyes. To our delight, the weather was exceptionally favorable, with clear blue skies and excellent visibility throughout most of our journey. Kryshna demonstrated an uncanny ability to anticipate our needs, consistently surpassing our expectations. Furthermore, he regaled us with captivating stories, music, and even dance, keeping us thoroughly entertained along the way, particularly during our stays at the tea houses. Additionally, Kryshna ensured that we had the finest sleeping accommodations, which pleasantly surprised us with their warmth and comfort.

Reflecting on our remarkable experience, we are already contemplating our return to explore more of this captivating country. With Himalayan Magic Treks as our trusted companions and Kryshna as our guide, we possess unwavering confidence that we will encounter nothing short of excellence once again.

A discouraging as the name may sounds, the Everest Base Camp Trek is not a difficult most the trek one can undertake. Spring begins February in Nepal and goes till May and autumn begins from September to till December, lots of daylight, as well as beautiful rhododendrons blooming and wildflowers. That’s due to end of monsoon and less rain, so it will be perfect time with clear blue sky. The seasonal monsoon characterizes summer in Nepal. Due to the demands of traveling at high altitude a passenger Self estimation form is required for this trip. You will be trekking on hilly terrain, generally on well-defined paths, walking anywhere between 3 –7 hours per day, on average about 5 hours a day. Altitude may excess Kalapathar 5545 meters

A Single Supplement to have your own room is available on this trip but if you prefer to stay you will pay extra and is applicable

In case of weather conditions leading to cancellations or delays in flights, this trip will operate on an alternate itinerary. Please see day 1 of the itinerary for more details.

We advise allow a few extra days in Kathmandu at the end of your trip should your return flights from Lukla be delayed due to weather condition.

Please note that while we endeavor to assist all our clients in achieving their goals, there may be times your guide makes the decision to either delay or stop your ascent based on your medical conditions and AMS symptoms.

Ramechhap is situated on the Terai and is closer to Lukla than Kathmandu.  The weather at Ramecheap is generally better than that at Kathmandu thus there is less build-up of delayed flights.  On the downside, the airport is 4 hours drive from Kathmandu.  This requires tourists to drive (organized bus) through the night to reach Ramechap in time for their early morning flight to Lukla.
