I got good references from other foreigners

‘I'm a 25 year old Korean-Canadian and I got into contact with Nabin 5 months before my arrival at Nepal in 2014 after hearing some good references from other foreigners. I got in contact with him early to get some ideas about trekking to EBC early 2015. He was very quick but detailed in his responses.

I had actually contacted several other guides and trekking companies, but in the end I decided to go with Nabin and his guide-porter because of not only their fast replies but also a sense of flexibility I got from them when it came to making decisions. They were very accommodating to the decisions I made, even about the little details. In the end though my personal challenge to trek to EBC failed because of my personal health reasons, but I highly recommend Nabin and his agency because of the hospitality, care, and quick emergency responses I received from them when I needed medical help. I think this is the most important factor when choosing a guide for your trekking experience.

We are hiring guides not just for sightseeing info during the trekking experience but in case we need to deal with emergency situations. Nabin and Krishna dealt my health problem really well and even continuously followed up with me throughout my stay at Nepal. This was not part of their job description when I hired them, and I truly appreciate their care and attention. I am planning to attempt an EBC trek again in two years after I train more. I'll be asking Nabin and Krishna again for their guidance and I hope my review of them will be helpful to you in deciding your guide for your trekking experience.

Wonderful Everest Trek

"The Everest base camp trek with Gopal was, from beginning to end, and incredible adventure. Gopal and his porters are exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. They went to some unimaginable lengths to ensure the comfort of our group and the success of our trek. Gopal has been doing this for a very long time and has no problem obtaining lodging or logistics anywhere in the Khumbu region, as he is well known and respected throughout the area. The trek is something that I will never forget. I highly recommend Himalayan Magic Treks."

17 Days EBC Trek with Himalayan Magic Treks- five Star services

I spent over 17 days with Gopal on a trek for EBC with 3 other family members in October 2011. It was an incredible journey that would not have been possible without the excellent help and guidance that Gopal and our two porters provided. Even in moments of trouble (altitude sickness) he showed us just how experienced he is with guiding and made sure to keep everyone safe even if it meant turning around.

You can be sure that if you choose Himalayan Magic Treks as your tour company you will have a safe, fun, informative and exciting journey. I was not disappointed with the service they provided and would recommend them to anyone who is interested in exploring this beautiful area of the world.

EBC Trek - Himalayan Magic Treks - EXCELENT !!!

I just did EBC / Gokyo / Kala Pattar Trek with Himalayan Magic Treks, and I couldn't be more pleased.

From the beginning of our conversations I felt that I would have full attention to every detail. Nabin (the agency owner) is of a unique professionalism, extremely attentive and concerned to satisfy our group in every way. The main guide (Krishna), Assistant Guide (Sudip) and the porters were spectacular in everything.

Great lodges, great food, high spirits from all the staff.

Highly recommend to all !!!

Amazing trek in Nepal!

We did a trek to Everest Base Camp with Himalayan Magic Treks in Nov 2016. We had lots of questions beforehand and Nabin was very quick to respond, and was very friendly in emails. He picked us up from the airport, and helped us find sleeping bags and down jackets for hire the next morning!

The price for the trek was reasonable - they were much cheaper than with the big international tour companies, and we had an English-speaking guide (Krishna) and a porter. They were brilliant on the trek, and Krishna helped us get the best rooms in the teahouses with the best views. They are accommodating so can tailor the trip however you want it. Krishna took care of things and even when we changed plans (due to a bit of altitude sickness), he and Nabin arranged alternative plans which allowed us to see some nice little villages and spend some relaxing time at the lower altitudes.

The Himalayas region is absolutely breathtaking, and we had a very memorable trek with Himalayan Magic Treks.

Trip of a lifetime

If you are looking to travel to Nepal to explore a glimpse of the Himalayas, look no further than Himalayan Magic Treks. They cannot be rated highly enough.

As a solo female traveller, who decided to organise a last minute trek to Everest Base Camp, I could not have chosen more wisely.

From beginning to end, Mr. Nabin was consistent and considerate, always replying in detail and with speed. I had all of my questions answered before ever meeting him.

Upon arrival, I was greeted at the airport by 3 males, Mr. Nabin (organizer), Guide, and driver. Despite being a solo female, I never once felt unsafe and very welcomed!

If you are blessed enough to have a guide as half as wonderful as mine, Mr. BD. You are in for a trip of a lifetime. Patient, friendly and extremely knowledgeable! It was just BD and I trekking alone which I was slightly apprehensive of at the beginning, but he was so professional and genuine that I enjoyed every minutes of our time together.

Amazing trek in Khumbu valley with Himalayan Magic Trek

We are a couple from London who did a trip to Nepal to visit Sagamartha National Park with Mt. Everest and the Annapurna region afterwards. For the longer Khumbu valley trek we booked a trip with Himalayan Magic Treks, which had been recommended by a friend at home. As expected Himalayan Magic Trek organised a superb trip for us. Nabin, the director of the business is very helpful and was extremely responsive and clear by email. When we met in Kathmandu he was very professional and super nice. Our guide Ang Phuri was great too, and so strong! During the trek it was like we had a friend come along, he is a sweet guy.

He picked great teahouses to stay for us, which were comfy and run by bubbly owners, which make you feel like home. The food was very good and we had no problems during our stay in Nepal. Nabin and his team really went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. We were delayed in Lukla and when back in Kathmandu Nabin helped us getting re-organised with pick-up, accommodation and change of flights, which wasn't originally part of the plan.

It made it all so much easier and it was like we had a good friend helping us. We so hope we get a chance to return to Nepal anytime soon to see other regions and will book with Himalayan Magic Trek again for sure. It would be great to see Nabin and the team again. Nepal is a stunning country and the people are as nice as the country is beautiful. Vincent & Sanjana

Excellent EBC trek with Himalayan Magic Trek - from a Singaporean traveller

I did the EBC trek with Himalayan Magic Trek in March 2017. After searching through a few trekking companies I decided to go with Himalayan Magic Treks mainly because they seemed like a serious company (doing both treks and expeditions) but also because of the timely replies from Nabin via email and the flexibility they offered in tailoring a trip around my tight work schedule. Also the prices they offered were highly competitive compared to other local companies.

My guide for the trip was Krishna Karki who happened to be Nabin’s brother. From the day I arrived at Kathmandu airport he was in charge of looking after my well-being and ensuring that the company delivered on what we had arranged. He accompanied me on the entire trekking trip from Kathmandu to Lukla and took care of all matters related to the trek from lodging to food. Krishna speaks fluent English (and French apparently) so there were no issues with communication and he was very helpful in answering my many questions about Nepal and the Himalayan mountain range. Also, it was easy to strike up a conversation about other topics just as you would with any tourist you met on the trail. I had the misfortune of acquiring a respiratory infection on my trip and Krishna was very attentive to me and closely monitored my health even offering the age-old mountain remedy of garlic soup to help with my altitude sickness. Overall, I felt safe and well taken care of during the trip and have absolutely no complaints.

During the hike we stayed at guesthouses along the route to EBC. Apart from Lobuche and Gorak shep which have few options, are usually overcrowded with people and have basic amenities, the other guesthouses that we stayed in were very comfortable. Not only were the toilets clean (by Nepali standards) but the food was surprisingly good.

This was my first trip to Nepal and after the memorable experience which I had I will definitely return to explore the other mountain ranges. Without any hesitation, I would choose Himalayan Magic Treks again.

AMAZING!!!!!! 17 day Everest Base Camp + Gokyo Cho-la Pass Trek

Thank you Himalayan Magic Treks for an incredible trip. I did the 17 day Everest Base Camp + Gokyo Cho-la Pass Trek. Nabin welcomed us warmly on our arrival to Kathmandu and did everything he could to help us get ready for the trek. The trek itself was AMAZING! I am so glad we went to Gokyo as well as Everest Base Camp as the views from Gokyo Ri were by far the most stunning views I have ever seen in my life. Sadly, we were unable to do the Cho-La Pass as I was starting to feeling the effects of the altitude, however, our guide Sitaram made sure that we found another route to get us safely to Everest Base Camp. Sitaram did everything he could to make sure we were safe and happy at all times during the trek.

Himalayan Magic Treks were recommended to me by a friend and now I too would happily recommend them anyone thinking about trekking in Nepal.

Everest Base Camp Trip of a lifetime

If you are looking to travel to Nepal to explore a glimpse of the Himalayas, look no further than Himalayan Magic Treks. They cannot be rated highly enough.

Amazing Trek in Nepal

EBC Trek - Awesome landscape views

For my EBC trek, I engaged himalayan magic treks. Initially, I was skeptical on the challenges I could face, but Nabin and Krishna Karki made me feel at home. Although my flight to KTM got delayed, both were very kind enough to pick me up late in the night and adjusted the itinerary. My guide, Mr Krishna was very knowledgeable, understood my trekking pace and gave enough room to trek at my own leisure. I took loads of pictures and will cherish the trek for ever. Unfortunate, I caught up with HAPE sickness just before reaching EBC, but Nabin and Krishna took care of me very well and engaged with Insurance teams professionally. I will return back next year and avail their service again

Excelente experiência com a Himalayan Magic Treks - An excellent experience

For those intending to visit Nepal and need a reliable, friendly and competent tour company, I highly recommend Himalayan Magic Treks. Many thanks to our guide Sitaram Karki, the porters, Prakash Aryal, Nabin Karki and all the others that made our dream trip become true! Fabricio Bianchini, São Paulo Brasil

Base Camp Adventure

I trecked with Shanta and Nabin to Base Camp of Mt Everest, and it is the best experience I have ever had in my life!

Right from the start of our trip where we were picked up from the airport, taken to the best shopping spots and then fed in their own house, we were incredibly well looked after.

Everything was organised, every question we was answered and at every point we felt safe and that our health and enjoyment was our guides top priority. They organised seperate day trips for us, were flexible to choose different accomodation based on the weather and our fitness levels, and even carried my Mum to the hospital when she had a fall.

As everything was looked after we were left to enjoy the incredible scenery, chat to the people we met along the way and marvel in the fact we were in the Himalayas.

NB be prepared for the altitude and its effects and the food served in the tea houses along the way!

When I left Nepal, I felt like I had a family there. Trecked Nov 2011.

Best experience, Great company

I chose to trek with Himalayan Magic because they offered the best rates and were a local Nepal trekking company.
I can honestly say I never expected the quality of guide I would get. I was picked up at the airport by my guide and of the companies owners. They settled me into my hotel and discussed the plan for my 12 day trek. When things could have gone bad due to poor weather, my guide and the company made alternate arrangements and ensured I still managed to do everything I wanted to.
My guide (Chirri) not only provided great knowledge of the land and insight into the lives of locals but looked after me personally and even helped other trekkers out along the way.
I've been recommending this company to all my friends and would encourage anyone else to get behind a great local business who know the land and care about its people

Memorable journey to Everest Base Camp

My husband and I embarked on a memorable journey to Everest Base Camp (EBC) in May 2023, accompanied by Himalayan Magic Treks. Undoubtedly, Nabin, our point of contact throughout the trip, played a pivotal role in ensuring our experience was as stress-free as possible. Right from our initial email exchange, Nabin diligently furnished us with all the necessary information, leaving no question unanswered. He remained readily available on WhatsApp, ever-willing to provide advice or address any queries that arose along the way. It was evident that no request was too much trouble for him.

Upon our arrival in Nepal, we were warmly greeted by Nabin, who imparted a wealth of knowledge and wisdom, acquired through years of experience. Subsequently, in Lukla, we were introduced to our guide, Kryshna, who proved to be nothing short of extraordinary. Words fall short in describing the breathtaking beauty that unfolded before our eyes. To our delight, the weather was exceptionally favorable, with clear blue skies and excellent visibility throughout most of our journey. Kryshna demonstrated an uncanny ability to anticipate our needs, consistently surpassing our expectations. Furthermore, he regaled us with captivating stories, music, and even dance, keeping us thoroughly entertained along the way, particularly during our stays at the tea houses. Additionally, Kryshna ensured that we had the finest sleeping accommodations, which pleasantly surprised us with their warmth and comfort.

Reflecting on our remarkable experience, we are already contemplating our return to explore more of this captivating country. With Himalayan Magic Treks as our trusted companions and Kryshna as our guide, we possess unwavering confidence that we will encounter nothing short of excellence once again.

Join the festivities, witness the lively processions, and embrace the joyous spirit that infuses the air.

The Sherpa Way of Life

Sherpas are born mountaineers, with an intimate knowledge of the treacherous terrain they call home. As you ascend to higher altitudes, you'll marvel at their agility and strength.
