Permits Required for the Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek

2. Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Permit (KCAP): A conservation area permit is required to enter the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area, which covers the trek route. Cost NPR 3,000 (for SAARC nationals), NPR 3,000
3. Restricted Area Permit (RAP): Since the Kanchenjunga area is a restricted region, trekkers are required to obtain a Restricted Area Permit. This permit can only be obtained through a registered trekking agency in Nepal. Cost: NPR 10,000 per person per week. For any additional week, NPR 20,000 is charged. It is typically necessary to be part of a group for this permit.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,310 m)
Upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by a representative from Himalayan Magic Treks. After a brief welcome program, you will be transferred to the comfortable 4-Star Hotel Shambala Boutique or a similar category hotel.

Day 02: Kanchenjunga Special Permit Preparation Day in Kathmandu Valley
After breakfast, spend the day in Kathmandu completing the necessary arrangements and obtaining the special permits required for the Kanchenjunga Circuit Trek. Our team will handle all trekking documentation and final trip preparations to ensure a smooth journey ahead.
You may also enjoy some free time exploring the cultural highlights, local markets, and vibrant atmosphere of Kathmandu Valley. In the evening, attend a trek briefing with your guide and prepare for the adventure into the remote eastern Himalayas.

Day 03: Fly to Bhadrapur and Drive to Taplejung (1,820 m)
Early in the morning, take a scenic 45-minute flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur in eastern Nepal. Upon arrival, begin a long but rewarding jeep journey through beautiful hills, tea gardens, river valleys, and traditional villages as you travel towards the Kanchenjunga region.

Day 08: Acclimatization Day at Ghunsa (3,415 m)

Day 19: Trek to Khebang (1,915 m)

Day 20: Drive to Ilam (1,200 m)
After breakfast, depart Khebang and enjoy a scenic 6-hour drive by private jeep toward Ilam, passing through beautiful hills, tea gardens, rivers, and traditional settlements of eastern Nepal.
Upon arrival in Ilam (1,200 m), check into your lodge and relax after the journey. Ilam is famous for its lush tea plantations and peaceful environment, offering a refreshing change from the trekking route. Overnight stay at a local lodge

Day 21: Fly Back to Kathmandu via Bhadrapur
After breakfast, drive approximately 4 hours by private jeep from Ilam to Bhadrapur Airport, enjoying the final views of eastern Nepal’s tea gardens and countryside. From Bhadrapur, take a 40-minute scenic flight back to Kathmandu.
