Samye Monastery is Located on the northern bank of the Yarlung Tsangpo River, Samye Monastery is nestled within Drangang County. Founded in 779 AD, it was established by Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) and the Tibetan king Trisong Detsen. It is renowned for being the first monastery to allow monks to become true Buddhists. The monastery is a key pilgrimage site and holds deep historical and spiritual significance.
Ganden Monastery is situated about 45 kilometers east of Lhasa; Ganden Monastery is another highlight of the trek. Perched on Gokpo Ri, a ridge overlooking the Kyi Chu River, Ganden is an important site for Tibetan Buddhism. Tsong Khapa, the founder of the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism, chose this location for his meditation in the 14th century. The monastery, built later, is considered a sacred place.

Day 01: Arrive at Lhasa airport or train station
Arrive at Lhasa airport or train station, meet our guide, reception and transfer to hotel in Lhasa. Rest of the day will be relaxing and acclimatizing on your own. Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Guided tour of Lhasa city
After breakfast at hotel, your guide will come to see you around 8 AM and start today’s sightseeing tour of Norbulingkha Palace, Jokhang temple and Sera Monastery. At first, you will visit the beautiful Sera monastery; the pictures you will see here are of these buildings with their white washed walls and golden roofs. At the moment, several thousands of monks dwell and study in this architecture. And, in the afternoon you will visit the Jokhang Temple and Norbulinkkha Palace. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: Second day of guided tour of Lhasa city
After breakfast, you will drive to Potala palace to visit the ancient quarters of the Dalai Lama. Potala palace will certainly be amazement as this grand palace has been regarded to exist before the 17th century. In the afternoon, you will visit Drepung Monastery which was once home to over 10,000 Tibetan monks. The Drepung Monastery is still a wonderful sight to see and remarkably it was one of the few sights to escape the Cultural Revolution without widespread damage. Overnight at hotel in Lhasa.
Day 04: Drive from Lhasa to Ganden Monastery (4500 m)
After breakfast at hotel, we will have a short drive to reach Ganden monastery. The day will be fully acclimatizing and exploring the surroundings. Further, there are many interesting things to see in this ancient town and the most beautiful highlight is the first Gelugpa Monastery. Although this monastery has been destroyed over the years, there is still much to see. Many pilgrims wish to walk the kora around this holy place and you can enjoy the rituals along the way. Day 05: Trek from Ganden to Yama Do (5 hours).
After breakfast at guest house, the first day’s trek starts with the highest point on the Ganden Kora. From this point, we will pace towards a saddle trail with mesmerizing views after which we traverse the west side of the ridge before passing through the alpine Hepu village. Later in the day move through Ani Pagong, a narrow bottleneck in the trail and former site of a nunnery. We will finish today’s trek up to Yama Do, where our staff will make camp to stay the first night in a tent.
Day 06: Trek from Yamo Do to Tsotup Chu Valley (4 to 5hours)
After breakfast, we leave the camp and lead our trail through a steep gully rising from the stream bank. Finally, we will ascend up the Shug La and start to descend through treacherous boulder fields. Later in the afternoon, we will cross Tsotup Chu, a large stream winding through the valley floor. Finally, we will set up our camp in herder fields. Overnight under tent.
Day 07: Trek from Tsotup Chu valley to Herder's Camp (5 hours)
After breakfast, we leave Tsotup Chu valley and move through the Tsotup Chu down along its tributary and pace towards the Chitu La pass. After ascending this amazing rocky pass, we will quickly walk down to reach an appropriate place to camp in the fields surrounding the stream. Overnight under tent.
Day 08: Trek from Herder’s camp to Wango (6 Hours)
After breakfast, we start an easy day; today’s trail gets easier as we walk through clean and pleasant forests in the main valley. Splashing streams and lush green forests keep entertain us as we walk. However, the desert is nearby. The next two to three hours walk is perhaps the most beautiful and mesmerizing part of our trek. A lot of verities of scrub trees, blossoming rhododendrons, and cosmic meadow will speculate us every step of the way! After passing through this stunning countryside we will trek pass the Changtang village. Towards evening, we will encounter the Samye valley along the splashing tributary stream and close to Samye; today is the last night of our trek under a tent.
Day 09: Trek from Wango to Samye valley (2 Hours), Drive to Tsedang
After breakfast, we will enjoy the wide-ranging and pleasant sceneries from Pisha from where the entire Samye valley can be glanced at once. After getting the summit of Dragmar we will visit the numerous temples nearby. However, the Cultural riot worsened the temples. We will then get ready for a splendid site as we meet up with the jeep road and get even nearer to Samye valley. Samye Gompa (monastery), representing the Buddhist world, is the main target of the trip for most of the trekkers/visitors. We will have sufficient of time to explore this mushrooming number of buildings. In the evening, we will take a short drive and spend the night in Tibet’s 3rd biggest city; Tsedang. Overnight at a warm hotel with a hot shower.
Day 10: An exploration day of Yarlung Valley
After breakfast, we will start exploring Yarlung valley; the beautiful and regal area is extensively regarded to be the cradle of all of Tibetan civilization. The valley of the tombs is positioned at the origin of the Tibetan people. We will get a chance to discover this incredible site where both the massive burial grounds and Yumbulakhang can be observed. Yumbulakhang is a breathtaking architectural site hovering on a cliff and is one of the oldest buildings in all of Tibetan history. In the evening, we will drive back to Tsedang to spend the warm and cozy night at a hotel.
Day 11: Drive to Airport or train station for your onward journey.

Upon your arrival at the airport our representatives person with a Himalayan Magic Treks (LOGO) sign board, to show you on your arrival exit gate. Who taking care of you with reception then safely drive to the hotel, Briefing about program details before going to Mountains. At the airport we cannot enter the interior of the airport because a person who doesn’t have a plane ticket is not allowed to enter.

Leading around the steeply hills and rocky routes is not a job of common climbers and trekkers Himalayan Magic Treks have been providing native leaders and staffs working in this field perfectly since many years to overcome tough challenges and make your trip a golden memory. Our Guides are trained and well certified by the Government of Nepal. Our staffs have received proper emergency guidance and evacuation education in the Himalayas. They are also entirely aware of correct knowledge of first aid to the victims. We have never and will never compromise on the safety to our clients; therefore, we provide insurance and medical services during the trek and compensation when they needs.
To pass through challenging routes and to ensure your safety and comfort, we need adequate number of staffs. It includes guide, porter, driver, assistant guide and so on. We provide guide in every trip while one assistant guide to every 4-9 group of guests and two with every 10 crew. As for the porters, we send 1 porter for every 2 guest. The number of porter also varies to the load of the clients; a porter’s maximum load is 25 kg. Our staffs are professional and expert guides (leader) who can speak languages like English, French, Germany, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other as required. Autumn (September - November) and spring (March - May) is the best season for trekking and mountaineering in Nepal. Weather is mostly clear and temperature is moderate in these seasons which offer beautiful views without any obstruction. Spring grants you beautiful flowers, plants and rare animals. Walking is favorable during these seasons. Summer (June - August) and winter (December - February). Though summer has heavy monsoon rainfall, it is very much clearer to trek around Upper Mustang Trek, Upper Dolpo Trek and Nar Phu Valley Trek since they are rain shadow area Everest Base Camp Trek, Langtang Valley Trek , Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Rara Lake Trek, Kanchenjunga Trek, Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek as well as Pikey peak Trek are always better to trek in winter season.
Trekking can be challenging and exhausting. So you might need some fitness training and experience for some tough trial. Nepal Trekking in Everest Base Camp does not require past experience or extreme fitness even though we have more challenging routes in different region compared to that of Everest. Trekking in Himalayas always takes us to challenging altitudes and rocky routes. You could ask for proper rest time and acclimatization to sustain your strength. Mountains can never be achieved in a day. We always provide the detail in our itinerary. However certain training like running, skipping and other workouts will definitely be beneficial in such challenging routes.
Altitude sickness is a major risk when trekking. You might experience it on any trails above 2,500 m however; good health, proper care and drinking plenty of water will definitely help you to prevent from altitude sickness. Every trekkers needs to be familiar with the heights and altitude so, for this we have life saving appropriate acclimatization days during the trek, We also provide certain medical support for your relief and emergency rescue through helicopter whenever the situation gets worse.
