Makalu Sherpani col Trek is Truly Adventurous trek to a remote area of the region to the Great Himalayas trail, which starts from Tumlingtar, east of Nepal with the regular flight or a helicopter ride depending upon the weather conditions. The trail leads upstream along the Arun River across the terraced fields and villages to reach Chichira. We leave the main trail and cross the Arun River to Tashi Gaon. We go upstream to Makalu Base Camp. Then we cross the 3 difficult passes of the Sherpani col pass 6,110 meters, west Col 6,135 meters and Mingbo-La 5,817 meters.
Makalu Shrepani col Trekking during this trip period you will have wonderful views of the mountains such as Kanchenjunga, Makalu I, Makalu II, Jannu, Baruntse, Lhotse, Everest, Ama Dablam, Pumori & Thamserku. From Baruntse Base Camp, this trek continues through the difficult passes like Mingbo-La for which we need at least a line of 300 meters of fixed rope to descend and trek ends at Lukla.

Meandering through terraced fields and picturesque villages, the trail leads to Chichira, where we diverge from the main route, crossing the Arun River en route to Tashi Gaon. From there, our ascent takes us to the majestic Makalu Base Camp, unveiling breathtaking vistas of towering peaks.

  • The trek encompasses three challenging passes – Sherpani Col (6,135 m), West Col (6,143 m), and Amphulaptsa Pass (5,850 m).

The Makalu 3 Col Trek cost varies depending on factors such as group size, hotel category in Kathmandu, trek duration, and desired services, ranging between USD 3,500 to 4,000 per person for a complete Makalu Sherpani Col Circuit Trekking package.

After navigating the Hunku Glacier, a descent further brings you to the Baruntse Glacier at 5,450 m.

This adventure culminates with a trek down through the Khumbu region, concluding in Lukla, followed by a scenic flight back to Kathmandu. Makalu Serpani Col Trek necessitates two different park permits for entry into the Sagarmatha National Park and Makalu Barun National Park, underscoring the significance of this pristine Himalayan wilderness.
