Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m /26,795ft) is the 7th world’s highest mountain, which is also known as the one of the formidable interesting peak of the Nepal. Mt. Dhaulagiri is situated in the North-West part of Myagdi District of Nepal. Dharulagiri is derived from Sanskrit Dhavala which means “white” and Giri means “Mountain Peak” which is real huge endorse to say the range of White Mountains as Dhavala-giri is called as Mt. Dhaulagiri in combined. It was first climbed by a Swiss/Austrian expedition on May 13, 1960. The massif Dhaulagiri extends upto 120 km from the Kaligandaki River West to the Bheri. The Dhaulagiri I is also the highest basin point of the Gandaki river.
Annapurna I (8,091m/26,545 ft) is only 34 km away from East of Dhaulagiri I. The Kaligandaki River flows along the notable gorge, which is the world’s deepest gorge. Pokhara city is the south of the Annapurna, important regional center and the gateway for the mountaineers and trekkers visiting both ranges as well as a tourist destination in its own right.
