The Ama Dablam Expedition is a challenging climb, standing at 6,812 meters above sea level. Known as one of the most technical peaks, it requires strong rock climbing skills, ice climbing expertise, and a solid understanding of rope techniques. Due to the difficulty of the climb, previous mountaineering experience is essential.
Ama Dablam is often regarded as one of the most beautiful and iconic mountains in the world. Located in the heart of the Khumbu region, it rises 3,000 meters above Tengboche village, creating a stunning visual. The peak was first summited in 1961 by an Anglo-American-New Zealand team.
Climbing Ama Dablam is considered highly technical, with challenges such as crossing crevasses, navigating steep snowy paths, and scaling ice-covered rocks. Successful ascent of this dramatic peak demands excellent physical conditioning and prior technical climbing experience. Many mountaineers attempt Ama Dablam as a stepping stone before tackling even higher 8,000-meter peaks. We offer this expedition with ample time for acclimatization, ensuring a safe and successful summit.
‘’ There are Nothing is impossible’’ We can make everything possible !! so we are focus on expert Climbing guide, who has been there several times as well as technical climbing knowledge of using ropes, proper climbing gears to use, safety and security concern , high risk protection skill, and team leading is the most important, we guaranteed that for the organization so we select climbing guide (Climbers) from interview also we verified all the details about Expert climbing guide before sending you in the mountains for the real Expedition with full Safety, proper responsibilities. We will take maximum safety gears for every expeditions to be success so let’s make bigger group for the adapt the Trip, if even you go in a small group or solo climber also possible but the cost will be higher than bigger group, while your success chance is more than 90% than bigger group so sometimes, you also think about it and don’t look only for money to save (Better to think safe the life in the mountains is most important) because Expedition will be always high risk so we never know the weather prediction, we have to careful about weather forecast.
We will ascend via the South West Ridge, which is the usual climbing route. It is a climb over mixed terrain with sections of snow, ice and rock, some of which are steep and technical. In addition to base camp, it is usual to have 2 extra camps en route to the summit. A number of days are included for bad weather and contingency. As with all trips and expeditions into the mountains, the itinerary is subject to change depending on the weather and conditions under foot.
We ascend via the South West ridge, which is usually climbed and offers all types of climbing. We start climbing over ice blocks and terrains to reach the Base Camp I.
Base camp I: from Base camp I we start ascending up through the moraine ridge viewing the entire route of our ascent offered from the place there. We climb up through the difficult rocky section using the fix ropes to reach the Base Camp II.
Base Camp II: From Base Camp II the route is much more demanding and technical where you have to climb across ice crevice, steep path and mixed terrain and the final section up to Camp three is pretty harsh with horizontal path final section into Camp 3 is the famed mushroom ridge, a mostly horizontal traverse through a narrow edge ridges.
Base Camp III: From Camp III up to the summit, the route is comparatively less technical with straight forward climbing around the hanging glacier to reach the summit.
The autumn season is the best time for the Ama Dablam Expedition due to favorable weather conditions and stable trekking routes. This period, from September to early November, offers the most ideal conditions for summiting the peak, with clear skies, less precipitation, and generally calm weather.
While the spring season is another option, it is often windier, and the weather can be less predictable compared to autumn. For the best chance of success and a safe climb, we recommend choosing the autumn months. A period of about one month (September to late October or early November) is perfect for completing the expedition.

Autumn (September - November) and spring (March - May) is the best season for trekking and mountaineering in Nepal. Weather is mostly clear and temperature is moderate in these seasons which offer beautiful views without any obstruction. Spring grants you beautiful flowers, plants and rare animals. Walking is favorable during these seasons. Summer (June - August) and winter (December - February). Though summer has heavy monsoon rainfall, it is very much clearer to trek around Upper Mustang Trek, Upper Dolpo Trek and Nar- Phu valley Trek since they are rain shadow areas. Everest Base Camp Trek, Langtang Gosaikunda Trek, Annapurna Base Camp Trek as well as Tibet trek are always better to trek in winter season.
Trekking can be challenging and exhausting. So you might need some fitness training and experience for some tough trial. Trekking in Everest Base Camp does not require past experience or extreme fitness even though we have more challenging routes in different region compared to that of Everest. Trekking in Himalayas always takes us to challenging altitudes and rocky routes. You could ask for proper rest time and acclimatization to sustain your strength. Mountains can never be achieved in a day. We always provide the detail in our itinerary. However certain training like running, skipping and other workouts will definitely be beneficial in such challenging routes.
Altitude sickness is a major risk when trekking. You might experience it on any trails above 2,500 m however; good health, proper care and drinking plenty of water will definitely help you to prevent from altitude sickness. Every trekkers needs to be familiar with the heights and altitude so, for this we have life saving appropriate acclimatization days during the trek, We also provide certain medical support for your relief and emergency rescue through helicopter whenever the situation gets worse.
Our only goal in the Himalayas is to leave the memories and foot prints; Himalayan Magic Treks is concerned on environment pollution issue and global warming. We collect the rubbish and dump it to the proper place to protect our environment and also appeal our clients to do the same. We partake in every program conducted in KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Education Project) and other environmental conservation programs. We want to promote Safe environment act and stand against pollution & global warming.

Ama- Dablam Expedition in winter (December to February)
Winter is definitely for the more experienced trekker. The weather is unpredictable, and trails can change in hours due to snow. The sky will most likely be clear, and the scenery changes daily as snow drifts in. On the positive side, fewer trekkers will be on the trail and lodges. But if this is for you, let’s discuss the possibilities as lodges often close for the winter as locals go down to lower altitudes to wait out the cold so honestly inform you everyone winter is impossible for high mountains above 7000 meters climb because of high risk.

I contacted Nabin just 1 month before I planned to climb Ama Dablam Expedition, a 6812 m peak in the Khumbu valley. He was the only person I contacted who answered all my questions and said he could organise what I was looking for - return flights from Kathmandu to Lukla, a porter to meet me at the airport and all the permits I need to climb the mountain, Liason officer and use of the fixed ropes.
He was very quick to respond, he gave me a break down of all the costs and was also cheaper than anyone else I contacted. When I had a problem with my bank for payment he even said I could just pay when I arrived! In the end I sorted the problem but great that he offered.
Considering that I was doing a low cost independent expedition Nabin's services were really good. He met me at the airport, had a taxi take me to my hotel and then took me to his home to talk about the expedition and his wife even made a meal for me!
Nabin is very hospitable and a very kind and friendly person. He's very organized and didn't forget anything. When I finished my climb 2 weeks early he changed the flight very quickly so I could get back to Kathmandu.
He also met me at my hotel on time to take me to the airport when I was leaving even though it was more than a week after I finished my climb and treated me to a farewell dinner.
Nabin runs a small company and I think this is what makes it so good. He deals with many things himself and adds a personal touch to everything you do while you are in Nepal. You wont regret booking any kind of activity from a few days trekking to full expedition.
Thanks for the reliable and good service Nabin!
