Embark on an extraordinary adventure with our Mount Ama Dablam Expedition, a pinnacle experience in the heart of the Khumbu and one of the most captivating mountains in the Everest region. Standing at an impressive 6812 m, Mount Ama Dablam is renowned for its dramatic features, earning its reputation as one of the most wonderful mountains on our planet.

Our expedition spans approximately four weeks, allowing ample time for proper preparation and a successful ascent. The journey begins with a domestic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, followed by a scenic walk through picturesque villages such as Phakding, Namche, Tengboche, and Pangboche, leading directly to the Mount Ama Dablam Base Camp.

To conquer this majestic peak, climbers must undergo technical training, given the challenging nature of the ascent along the South-West ridge. Ama Dablam demands respect and preparation, making it essential for climbers to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge before attempting its 6812 m summit.

The ascent of Mount Ama Dablam unfolds in three stages, navigating through different camps, each presenting unique challenges. From negotiating ice rocks to tackling steep and frozen snow, the climb is a test of skill, endurance, and determination. First ascended in 1961 by an Anglo-American-New Zealand team, Ama Dablam has since been conquered through various routes, with climbers typically establishing three camps (C1, C2, and C3) before reaching the summit.

Our 24-day Ama Dablam Expedition provides full-board services, covering transportation, meals, and essential facilities, including tents and high-altitude gear. The expedition can be undertaken during both Spring and Autumn, with the Spring season recommended for optimal conditions.

The cost of the expedition varies based on group size, with larger groups benefiting from cost-sharing advantages. For detailed information on costs for 2024, and 2025, including the option for a 1:1 Climbing Sherpa, please refer to our comprehensive expedition details.

Highlights of the Ama Dablam Expedition include reaching the summit at 6812 m and enjoying breathtaking views of iconic mountain ranges, including Mount Everest (8848 m), Mount Lhotse (8516 m), Mount Makalu (8481 m), Mount Cho Oyu (8201 m), and many others. First ascended by Mike Gill, Barry Bishop, Mike Ward, and Wally Romanes in 1961 via its Southwest Ridge, Mount Ama Dablam promises an unparalleled adventure for those seeking the ultimate Himalayan experience.

Top Company in Nepal

I contacted Nabin just 1 month before I planned to climb Ama Dablam Expedition, a 6812 m peak in the Khumbu valley. He was the only person I contacted who answered all my questions and said he could organise what I was looking for - return flights from Kathmandu to Lukla, a porter to meet me at the airport and all the permits I need to climb the mountain, Liason officer and use of the fixed ropes.

He was very quick to respond, he gave me a break down of all the costs and was also cheaper than anyone else I contacted. When I had a problem with my bank for payment he even said I could just pay when I arrived! In the end I sorted the problem but great that he offered.

Considering that I was doing a low cost independent expedition Nabin's services were really good. He met me at the airport, had a taxi take me to my hotel and then took me to his home to talk about the expedition and his wife even made a meal for me!

Nabin is very hospitable and a very kind and friendly person. He's very organized and didn't forget anything. When I finished my climb 2 weeks early he changed the flight very quickly so I could get back to Kathmandu.

He also met me at my hotel on time to take me to the airport when I was leaving even though it was more than a week after I finished my climb and treated me to a farewell dinner.

Nabin runs a small company and I think this is what makes it so good. He deals with many things himself and adds a personal touch to everything you do while you are in Nepal. You wont regret booking any kind of activity from a few days trekking to full expedition.

Thanks for the reliable and good service Nabin!

Ama- Dablam Expedition in winter (December to February)
Winter is definitely for the more experienced trekker. The weather is unpredictable, and trails can change in hours due to snow. The sky will most likely be clear, and the scenery changes daily as snow drifts in.  On the positive side, fewer trekkers will be on the trail and lodges.  But if this is for you, let’s discuss the possibilities as lodges often close for the winter as locals go down to lower altitudes to wait out the cold so honestly inform you everyone winter is impossible for high mountains above 7000 meters climb because of high risk.
