Upper Mustang is a stunning mountain region located in the northern central part of Nepal, above the Kali Gandaki River and close to the Tibetan plateaus. This biking trail is one of the most remote and thrilling in the world. Along the way, you’ll explore ancient trade routes, monasteries, and hidden paths, experiencing the true rural lifestyle of Nepal and Tibetan culture. You'll also be treated to breathtaking views of the high, snow-capped peaks of the Annapurna region, with thrilling downhill rides that will get your adrenaline pumping.
The adventure begins with a mountain flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. From there, you'll bike along the beautiful Kali Gandaki River valleys, passing through the world's deepest gorge between the towering peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. The landscape is like a natural painting, with colorful cliffs resembling the Tibetan plateau. You'll also visit the famous pilgrimage site of Muktinath, cross several mountain passes up to 4,100 meters, and explore ancient Tibetan monasteries and fortress villages in the Mustang region, leading to the final destination, Lo Manthang. Lo Manthang is a walled city and the capital of Mustang, home to the king of Mustang and ancient Tibetan monasteries. Here, you'll witness stunning views of snow-capped mountains and the unique way of life in Mustang.
