Tengboche Trek with Mani Rimdu Festival – A Sacred Himalayan Journey is a scenic and culturally rich route in the Everest region, leading to the spiritual heart of the Khumbu: Tengboche Monastery. While this trek is breathtaking any time of year, it becomes truly unforgettable during the annual Mani Rimdu Festival—a vibrant celebration of Tibetan Buddhism held every autumn.
This trek offers not just stunning views of Mount Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Thamserku, but also a rare opportunity to witness ancient Himalayan rituals and mask dances in one of Nepal’s most sacred monasteries.

What is Mani Rimdu Festival?

Mani Rimdu is the most important religious festival in the Everest region, celebrated by the Sherpa people. It takes place at Tengboche Monastery over three days during the full moon of October or November, based on the Tibetan lunar calendar.

The festival includes:

  • Chanting and prayers by monks to invoke blessings for peace and prosperity
  • Colorful masked dances symbolizing the victory of good over evil
  • Rituals and sand mandalas representing cosmic balance
  • Public blessings where locals and trekkers gather for spiritual energy

It's a once-a-year chance to experience living Himalayan culture surrounded by the world's tallest peaks.
