Kathmandu Valley Rim Mountain Biking Tour is an extremely pleasant and relaxing mountain biking which takes you along the authentic rural villages of Nepal to one side from the hustle of the busy Kathmandu city. Kathmandu Valley Rim mountain biking begins from the Sundarijal from where; we begin cycling uphill along the rhododendron forest passing through small farmlands until we get the jeep track. Then we rest a while in tea house and further cycling towards the Chisapani, entre towards the Helambu region. Then again we cycle up to the Nagarkot, Chisapani where you could have awe-inspiring view of the massif mountain range ranging from Gaurisankhar to Annapurna. After visualize the beautiful and inspiring scenery of mountain and sunrise, we cycle some of remarkable up and downhill to arrive the popular monastery of Namobuddha. It will be the best opportunity because you can visit the golden province of historical city of Panauti as well as the traditional Newari Village , can able to know the real lifestyle of rural Nepali people ,can observe their enrich culture. Then we begin cycling towards Godavari Hill via one of the pass to enter Kathmandu valley i.e. Lakure Bhanjyang. Where we will visit a Royal Garden then we back to Kathmandu via Hattibaan along the popular Hindu temple of Dakshinkali.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport (1310 meters), our airport representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu and he will be displaying a Himalayan Magic Treks signboard outside the airport terminal. Day 02:Pre-trip meeting and ride from Kathmandu to Kakani (2,100m), after the meeting, we prepare our equipment and backpack, and then ride off to Kakani. We head through the bustling back streets of Thamel and on to good wide undulating jeep tracks alongside the Nagarjun forest. Your efforts are rewarded by spectacular mountain views. On the way, taste the delicious trout fish farmed locally – which gives the route the name “Trout Highway”. We bike mostly uphill to Kakani, which is at 2,100m elevation. Once in our destination, we enjoy the stunning views of Ganesh and Langtang mountains and the valley of Likhu Khola 1,000m below. Overnight at a guesthouse
Day 03: Ride from Kakani to Budanilkantha (1,630 m), Head off on one of the best single tracks in the valley down towards the Budhanilkantha Temple (Sleeping Vishnu), passing through the Shivapuri National Park. Budhanilkantha is a remarkable 5th century statue of the Lord Vishnu, reclining on the coil of giant king snakes in the middle of small pond. Your efforts are rewarded by spectacular panoramic mountain views of Ganesh and Langtang Himal on the way. Moreover, the hotel you’ll be staying at in Budhanilkantha is true resort established in a rural setting with culturally rich and naturally pristine environment whose garden harbors nearly 75 species of birds and 2,000 flowering trees and shrubs. Day 04: Ride from Budanilkantha to Nagarkot (2,175m) Today we head off towards Boudhanath, the largest Buddhist stupa in Nepal.Following the tarmac past Boudhanath, we take in clearer views of Kathmandu. We continue on ride to the Sankhu village and we stop here for lunch and explore this ancient town. From here we cycle along a jeep track road to wind our way up with a two-hour climb to Nagarkot – one of the most well known hillstations of the country. The views of the Himalayan mountain range from Nagarkot, especially from the Tower, more than compensate this arduous ascent. On a clear day, even Mt. Everest can be seen! We stay in Nagarkot at a guesthouse from where we can enjoy the sunset. Overnight at a hotel
Day 05: Ride from Nagarkot to Palanchowk (820m)
We will head down hill on a mix of single and jeep tracks. We descend through terraced paddy fields and small farming villages. We turn off to Phalanchowk and ascend 9km on a paved road .You'll visit the Bhagawati Temple, which houses one of the most beautiful and worshipped Bagawati goddess’ images in Nepal. The stunning image is carved of black stone and bedecked in jewelry. From your hilltop vantage point you'll have a spectacular view of the Himalaya and the surrounding valleys. Day 06: Ride from Palanchowk to Dhulikhel (1,600m) After a wonderful night at Palanchowk, we start the day with an off-road descent. This stretch is technical but there is an easier option further west, which merges with the same trail. We cross the main road and continue 20km uphill to Dhulikhel and our hotel for the night. We have lunch here and for those who haven’t had enough rides, there is time in the afternoon to explore the local trails or the well-preserved town. Overnight at a hotel
Day 07: Ride from Dhulikhel to Balthali (1,445 m), From Dhulikhel, we ride on the flat mostly-paved route to Balthali. The traditional village with ancient architecture of the houses and innumerable temples welcome us. This definitely allows for a great spot for sightseeing. The greenery and the farms make our ride very pleasant. The village of Balthali is tucked away behind the forest of Panauti and is considered as a naturally and culturally rich destination. The cozy hotel you’ll be at sports a bird’s eye view of green terrace field, massive surrounding hills and faint streaks of the Himalayas to the north. Overnight at a hotel
Day 08:Ride to Lakure bhanjyang to (1,545m),Leaving Bhaktapur behind we head toward north-west on jeep tracks and single tracks, passing paddy fields along the gorgeous and serene forest of Phulchowki on our way to Godavari. The Godvari Botanical Garden hosts a wide range of exotic and indigenous plants in its famous gardens. It has been of prime importance for scientific research and observation, and is popular among both the locals and tourists because of its pleasing landscape surrounded by evergreen natural forest. You can feel a sense of tranquility and refreshment in Godvari, which also has innumerable hiking spots, including of course, Phulchowki hill – the highest point in the Kathmandu valley. Day 09: Ride from Lakure to Kathmandu (1,345), via Patan Durbar Square
We spend time exploring some exciting trails near Godavari then onto excellent off-road trails close to Kathmandu, a pleasant conclusion to our thrilling biking session! On the way, we will pay a visit to the Patan Durbar Square, which is an enchanting combination of palace buildings, artistic courtyards and graceful pagoda temples. The former royal palace complex is the center of Patan's religious and social life, and houses a museum containing an array of bronze statues and religious objects. One remarkable monument here is a 17th-century temple dedicated to the Hindu god Krishna, built entirely of stone. We return to the hustle and bustle of Thamel on tarmac roads and celebrate our completion of this rewarding trip. Overnight at a hotel
Day 10: Sightseeing in Kathmandu, Your sightseeing trip will start at around 7.00am after a hearty breakfast. You will have a private vehicle and a professional tour guide at your disposal. We visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world, where we observe Buddhist monks praying in the monasteries surrounding the stupa. After Boudhanath Stupa we visit Pashupatinath, the most famous Hindu temple in the country, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Here we see Hindu holy men (sadhus) meditating, pilgrims bathing and occasionally funeral pyres burning on the ghats. We then head towards Swayambhunath – also called the Monkey Temple - a Buddhist stupa perched atop a hillock on the western side. You get a magnificent view of the valley from here.You have the option to extend your trip to continue onto Chitwan jungle safari, Pokhara sightseeing, trekking, rafting & bungee, Kathmandu valley shopping tour, scenic Everest flight, and other activities. Day 11: Departure from Kathmandu to your onward destination.
Upon your arrival at the airport our representatives person with a Himalayan Magic Treks (LOGO) sign board, to show you on your arrival exit gate. Who taking care of you with reception then safely drive to the hotel, Briefing about program details before going to Mountains. At the airport we cannot enter the interior of the airport because a person who doesn’t have a plane ticket is not allowed to enter.

Being homeland of Himalayas, it’s obvious to have challenging routes, dangerous weather, health issues; any of these situations is enough to ruin your trip. Leading around the steeply hills and rocky routes is not a job of common climbers and trekkers. Himalayan Magic Treks have been providing native leaders and staffs working in this field perfectly since many years to overcome tough challenges and make your trip a golden memory. Our Guides are trained and well certified by the Government of Nepal. Our staffs have received proper emergency guidance and evacuation education in the Himalayas. They are also entirely aware of correct knowledge of first aid to the victims. We have never and will never compromise on the safety to our clients; therefore, we provide insurance and medical services during the trek and compensation when they needs.
To pass through challenging routes and to ensure your safety and comfort, we need adequate number of staffs. It includes guide, porter, driver, assistant guide and so on. We provide guide in every trip while one assistant guide to every 4-9 group of guests and two with every 10 crew. As for the porters, we send 1 porter for every 2 guest. The number of porter also varies to the load of the clients; a porter’s maximum load is 25 kg. Our staffs are professional and expert guides (leader) who can speak languages like English, French, Germany, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and other as required. We can also manage any other staffs as per your demands.

Security is our primary concern from your first day you will be under our service and protection. Our staff will pick you up at the airport and will assist you to your hotel. We have proper remedial services during the trek with professional staffs and services like first aid, and we will help to arrange oxygen bag and helicopter service for emergency rescue. We also focus on acclimatization days to get rid of altitude sickness. We will take care of you on arrival to till on in your final departure date (airport drop services)
Autumn (September - November) and spring (March - May) is the best season for trekking and mountaineering in Nepal. Weather is mostly clear and temperature is moderate in these seasons which offer beautiful views without any obstruction. Spring grants you beautiful flowers, plants and rare animals. Walking is favorable during these seasons. Summer (June - August) and winter (December - February). Though summer has heavy monsoon rainfall, it is very much clearer to trek around Upper Mustang Trek, Dolpo and Nar- Phu valley since they are rain shadow areas. Everest, Langtang, Annapurna as well as Tibet trek are always better to trek in winter season.
Trekking can be challenging and exhausting. So you might need some fitness training and experience for some tough trial. Nepal Trekking in Everest Base Camp does not require past experience or extreme fitness even though we have more challenging routes in different region compared to that of Everest. Trekking in Himalayas always takes us to challenging altitudes and rocky routes. You could ask for proper rest time and acclimatization to sustain your strength. Mountains can never be achieved in a day. We always provide the detail in our itinerary. However certain training like running, skipping and other workouts will definitely be beneficial in such challenging routes.
Altitude sickness is a major risk when trekking. You might experience it on any trails above 2,500 m however; good health, proper care and drinking plenty of water will definitely help you to prevent from altitude sickness. Every trekkers needs to be familiar with the heights and altitude so, for this we have life saving appropriate acclimatization days during the trek, We also provide certain medical support for your relief and emergency rescue through helicopter whenever the situation gets worse.
Our only goal in the Himalayas is to leave the memories and foot prints; Himalayan Magic Treks is concerned on environment pollution issue and global warming. We are always serious and genuine about our garbage during the trek especially during camping. We collect the rubbish and dump it to the proper place to protect our environment and also appeal our clients to do the same. We partake in every program conducted in KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Education Project) and other environmental conservation programs.
