Nepal’s all the sector of Domestic flight cost increased - Domestic flight costs across all sectors in Nepal have increased significantly following a sharp rise in aviation fuel prices. The Nepal Oil Corporation nearly doubled the price of aviation fuel from around Rs 127 to Rs 251 per liter leading airlines to raise ticket prices nationwide.
As a result, airfare has gone up on all major routes. For example, fares on routes like Kathmandu–Dhangadhi, Kathmandu–Pokhara, and Kathmandu–Biratnagar have increased by hundreds to thousands of rupees, with some routes seeing hikes of up to Rs 5,480. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has also introduced revised minimum and maximum fare limits reflecting these increases.
The main reason behind this rise is the surge in global fuel prices, which has significantly increased airline operating costs. Since fuel makes up a large portion of ticket pricing, the added cost has been directly passed on to passengers.
Overall, the increase in domestic flight costs has affected all sectors of air travel in Nepal, making air transportation more expensive for both regular passengers and the tourism industry. Domestic Air Fares valid from May 1, 2026, until further notice.
